The Boston Celtics are always a prime candidate for the world of NBA trade rumors, both due to the lineage of the franchise and the interesting contract situation of star Rajon Rondo.
A huge rumor popped up recently detailing a potential trade scenario that will ship Rondo off to Cleveland in exchange for Kyrie Irving. However, Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio believes that it's all just hogwash.
"No, the Cavs won't be trading Kyrie Irving for Rajon Rondo," Amico said. "No, the Celtics have no desire to ever make a deal like that, either. And no, it has not and will not be discussed. So forget about it. It will never happen."
The rumors, Amico points out, was started by retired NBA star Tracy McGrady on his Twitter account. However, both the Cavs and the Celtics seemingly laughed off such a scenario.
Rondo fits Boston. Irving fits Cleveland. At this point, talks of a mega-deal that would switch those players' uniforms are akin to a NBA2K15 deal gone wrong.
