Brad Stevens enjoys watch-and-learn role for C’s draft

The Celtics draft is essentially Danny Ainge’s show. While the club’s president of basketball operations gathers information from assistant general manager Mike Zarren, director of player personnel (and son) Austin Ainge and the rest of his staff and coaches, it is he who makes the calls.

Brad Stevens has said he is there to offer input, and certainly his college ties can be very valuable at this time of the year. But the coach acknowledges that it’s his boss who must look at the bigger pictures — salary cap ramifications, free agent possibilities, players who will be kept and those who will leave — and come up with a roster.
