Malcolm Subban‘s time on the Boston Bruins roster was over almost as quickly as it began. The Bruins’ goaltending prospect was sent down to the AHL after the team received news that Jonas Gustavsson was ready to return to game-action as Tuukka Rask‘s backup.

On January 26th, Jonas Gustavsson was taken out of a game against the Anaheim Ducks with an elevated heart rate following the first period. Gustavsson has a history of issues related to his heart and the Bruins’ described the situation as “precautionary”.
