The Creighton Bluejays and Providence Friars are separated by one game in the Big East Conference standings at the moment. Of course, that one game could very well mean playing on Wednesday night at the upcoming Big East Tournament, so to say that this Wednesday night’s matchup in Omaha is important would probably be putting it mildly.
While both teams are longshots for the NCAA Tournament, neither wants to partake in the first night of the conference tournament. But given the fact that the Jays are 7-9 and the Friars are 6-10, it’s looking like a very strong possibility for at least one of them at this point.
