The first half was dominated by Marquette and their outside shooting. The Golden Eagles were 7-15 from behind the arc while Butler was 1-8 from the same distance. Marquette was also out-rebounding Butler by a couple and was shooting 50 percent from the field.
So they were leading by 16 at the half. But Butler was 3-1 this season when trailing at the half, their lone loss in this category coming at the hands of the Bluejays.
