Texas at No. 13 in the country? Even Tom Herman fans think it's early to say Longhorns are back

Three takeaways from recent developments in college sports:

1. Guy Morriss' battle

The news Monday that Guy Morriss had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease brought well-wishes and fond remembrances from friends and acquaintances. The footage from Lexington TV station WKYT is every bit as heart-wrenching as you would imagine. "At first I couldn't write my name. I could not write my name," Morriss says at one point. "I didn't know my ABCs. I couldn't do that little rhyme." A former TCU lineman who played 15 NFL seasons - which doctors say very well could have contributed to his current condition - Morriss later served as head coach at Kentucky, Baylor and Texas A&M-Commerce.
