Texas A&M may be in the SEC - but could it hang in Rio? 10 Longhorn golds top Texas college Olympic performances

Entering Rio, the Longhorns and Aggies both sent huge contingencies of former and current athletes to compete in the 2016 Games.

In all, SportsDay identified 20 Longhorns and 27 Aggies competing. Interestingly, 13 Longhorns represented the U.S., while just five Aggies did.

Track & field was the most popular landing place for these athletes, featuring a whopping 17 Aggies and nine Longhorns. Swimming ranked second: Each school sent six to the pools.
