WACO -- Baylor took a major step toward a new basketball arena with the announcement of a lead gift Tuesday that will make the goal a reality.
While school officials declined to give a dollar figure, athletic director Mack Rhoades said during a press conference that the arena's price tag is $105 million and that Baylor still needed to raise $30 million. Based on the math, that meant $75 million for the anonymous family donation -- part of $100 million given to the school's university-wide Give Light Campaign.
