Mavs GM Donnie Nelson: We're 'hopeful, fairly optimistic' we can sign Baylor PF Johnathan Motley

The Mavericks front office members say they've found their guy in point guard Dennis Smith Jr., whom Dallas drafted with the ninth overall pick on Thursday night. But are the Mavs about to get another one of their guys, this time from down the road instead of the East Coast?

Mavericks general manager Donnie Nelson said the team is "very high" on Baylor forward Johnathan Motley, who went undrafted in Thursday's 60-pick draft. Nelson said the team's in "advanced discussions" about bringing Motley on board.
