Women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey tweeted Tuesday that she will be undergoing spinal fusion surgery Wednesday morning.
Mulkey indicated that the procedure is for the C5/C6, C6/C7 vertebrae.
"The surgery is needed to prevent neck, shoulder & arm pain I've been experiencing," Mulkey wrote in her tweet. "We are anticipating a smooth surgery and recovery. Can't wait to be back on the floor with Lady Bears soon!"
