Steve Smith Sr. posts email from the NFL about contaminated meat in China and Mexico

NFL players may be avoiding the buffet's in China and Mexico this season, or they could be suspended!

No, it's not the NFL regulating their actual consumption, but instead the NFL has in fact noticed the meat is contaminated with a banned substance from their substance abuse policy.

There is evidence that some meat produced in China and Mexico may be contaminated with clenbuterol, an anabolic agent which is banned by the NFL Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances.
