OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Ryan Mallett wouldn't say whether he knows if Joe Flacco will play Sunday with a right shoulder injury.
"We'll see," Mallett said Thursday.
On Wednesday, coach John Harbaugh expressed optimism that Flacco would start against the New York Jets. Flacco didn't seem too worried about his injury.
But Mallett, who has practiced with the first team all week, is preparing like he's the starter.
"I hope he's out there Sunday," Mallett said. "As a competitor, of course I want to play, but I want what's best for the team.
