OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Wide receiver Mike Wallace smiled when asked about the Baltimore Ravens picking up his $5.75 million option last month.
"Smart decision by them," Wallace said Wednesday. "Good job."
Wallace's $8 million salary-cap hit is quite a jump from last season ($3.5 million). The Ravens could've gained $5.75 million in cap space by not picking up the option, but they would've lost even more.
