Four Ravens not practicing as team prepares for Broncos

Starting defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan and three key Ravens reserves did not practice Wednesday, leaving their status for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Denver Broncos in doubt.

Running back Lorenzo Taliaferro (knee), wide receiver Breshad Perriman (knee) and cornerback Rashaan Melvin (soft-tissue injury) joined Jernigan (knee) in missing the practice.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh hasn't made any definitive announcements on the status of his injured players this week, although he did acknowledge that the players who haven't been practicing aren't likely to play.

Perriman, the team's first-round NFL draft pick, hasn't practiced since July 30, so he's a near certainty to miss Sunday's game.
