The Tides trailed by two runs heading into the ninth inning but then they loaded the bases and displaced big league slugger Pedro Alvarez socked a grand slam to put them ahead. It was Alvarez’s 21st homer of the season for Norfolk. He was 3-5 for the game.
Catcher Chance Sisco was 1-4 and also drew a walk in the contest. The PawSox did not challenge him on the basepaths at any point.
