Baltimore tied it in the previous inning as Chris Davis snapped Matt Albers' franchise record of 30 consecutive scoreless appearances with a two-out, two-run double off lefty Zach Duke. Albers, a former Oriole, recorded the first two outs of the inning, but he exited after hitting Adam Jones with a pitch.
After Carlos Sanchez doubled and scored on Abreu's single to tie it at 5, Todd Frazier sent O's setup man Darren O'Day's 1-2 pitch into the Baltimore bullpen. It was Frazier's seventh homer of the year and gave the Sox their first lead since the fourth inning.
