Orioles Beat Chicago White Sox 9-1

Back in the majors, Jonathan Schoop quickly made an impact.

The Baltimore second baseman homered in his first at-bat since coming off the 60-day disabled list, connecting on the second pitch he saw Sunday as the Orioles routed the Chicago White Sox 9-1.

''As soon as it left the bat, I said, 'Really?''' Orioles manager Buck Showalter said.

Schoop was activated from the DL before the game after being sidelined by a sprained right knee since April 18. The homer was his first in the majors since April 15.

''The nerves were all there,'' Schoop said.
