For a long time, Central and New Castle were North Central Conference rivals.
They played each other every year, sometimes twice if they met in sectionals. One of the NCC's flagship schools, New Castle left the conference in 2013 and the rivals had not played each other in boys basketball since.
Until Friday, that is.
That was the first meeting between them since the Trojans' exodus, and it was a back-and-forth battle punctuated by Kolby Mallory's game-winning shot.
It was Central's first trip to the New Castle Fieldhouse since 2012, and considering the rivalry, why did they stop playing?
