Softball’s Maddy Labrador Named MAC West Division Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – After helping guide the Ball State softball team to a 3-1 record last week, junior second baseman Maddy Labrador (Lexington, S.C./Spartanburg Methodist) has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week.

Labrador led the Ball State offense with a .571 batting average last week, including a .667 (8-for-12) average in helping guide the Cardinals to a MAC series win at Buffalo. She reached base safely and scored at least one run in all four games, plus finished the week with a team-high seven runs scored.

Labrador, who doubled in each game of the series at Buffalo, opened the week by reaching base in all four plate appearances in the team's 10-2 (6) win over Butler.
