MUNCIE, Ind. — A second-half homecoming collapse against Akron leaves Ball State with four games to get two wins as it pushes for its first bowl-eligible season since 2013.

It starts next Tuesday with a home game against unbeaten Western Michigan (ESPN2), followed by senior night against Eastern Michigan and road games at Toledo and Miami (Ohio). It'd be a tough bet, taking the 4-4 Cardinals over the 8-0 Broncos, who are in the running to make a New Year Six bowl game.

But hey, Mike Neu said one thing lifted his spirits after losing his first homecoming as a head coach: Watching Penn State upset Ohio State later Saturday night.
