Problems pile up during Ball State's 3rd in-state loss

MUNCIE, Ind. — Another in-state opponent took advantage of Ball State's inability to break full-court presses and double teams in the post. And at the end of two completely differing halves, the Cardinals were handed a familiar outcome.

IUPUI defeated Ball State 73-62 at Worthen Arena in front of a reported 2,994 fans. Head coach James Whitford, to put it simply, wasn't impressed by his team's late collapse after leading by 10 with 12 minutes to play.

"The reality is, we're not playing that well right now," Whitford said. "We're eight games in. No excuses. It's not like, a bad game at this point.
