DCFC announces new indoor facility

MUNCIE — When a potential spot for its indoor facility fell through late last summer, the Delaware County Football Club and its president, Chris Smith, stayed patient.

On Wednesday afternoon, DCFC closed on the same building it had previously targeted – the space at 5450 North Wheeling Avenue formerly occupied by the Muncie Skatepark. DCFC is hoping to have its indoor facility finished and operating by May 1, adding on to its outdoor fields at Yorktown Sports Park and Muncie Sportsplex.

“Our overall mission as a club is to grow the sport of soccer in a competitive way, a supportive way, a fair way and to allow players who want to play soccer the chance to reach their full potential,” Smith told The Star Press on Wednesday.
