MUNCIE, Ind. — Khamasi Muhiga spent six weeks of this past summer in tennis captivity — and loved every second of it.
Craving constant high-level competition, the Central senior went to the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch to hone his game in preparation for what he hopes is a run to the state finals later this fall. He began each day with a 5:30 a.m. wake-up call and got started with 45 minutes of conditioning. After breakfast, he had two hours of drill work. After lunch, it was match play until dinner time, and sometimes even weight training after that.
