After NFL calls, Franko House is chasing a new dream

MUNCIE, Ind. — The difference between college basketball and football was pretty slim for Franko House. He had offers for both sports but picked the hardwood because, well, he decided it would be more fun.

"I grew up playing basketball, that was a game I loved," House said. "But I loved football, too."

So when the graduating Ball State senior found out that the Chicago Bears asked if he would consider getting back on the gridiron, he was ecstatic. House worked out for the Bears and is now locked in on trying to follow in the footsteps of basketball-turned-football products such as Kent State's Antonio Gates and more recently, Indianapolis Colts signee Mo Alie-Cox, who hooped for VCU.
