YORKTOWN, Ind. — Every time Reece Malapit walked into the hospital to visit her mom last fall, the same scene played out over and over.
Reece would walk in and say, "Hey, Mom, how are you feeling?” The response was some variation of, “Get out, get out now! I don’t know who you are!”
Dejected but sympathetic to her mom’s situation, she didn’t take it personally.
