Max Verstappen described his first victory in Formula One as feeling "amazing" after he capitalised on a collision between the Mercedes drivers to win the Spanish Grand Prix.
Verstappen beat Kimi Raikkonen to victory by just 0.616s as a tense strategic battle emerged from the first lap carnage. On a two-stop strategy he held off Raikkonen for over 30 laps to become the youngest ever F1 race winner at just 18 years old.
"It feels amazing I can't believe it," he said on the podium. "It was a great race, I have to say thank you to the team, they give me such a great car and to win straight away in the first race, an amazing feeling.
