AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn’s Brenda Kigen was named the SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
“I am delighted that Brenda is awarded with this honor,” head coach Mark Carroll said. “She has worked very hard in training since she has arrived on campus. She had a strong run at Furman to finish second. We are excited for what she can achievement for the rest of the season, and I am very proud of her.”
The Eldoret, Kenya native finished second at the Furman Classic with a 6k time of 21:09.
