Four-star wide receiver Brandon Martin, the nation’s top junior college player at the position, announced Friday that he had committed to Auburn.
Martin (6 feet 4, 205 pounds) signed with LSU in the 2015 recruiting class out of Dallas Prime Prep Academy, but he didn’t qualify academically and enrolled instead at Mississippi Gulf Coast JC.
He chose Auburn over Florida and LSU.
Martin had shoulder surgery this offseason but is expected to be fine for this season at Mississippi Gulf Coast. He plans to enroll at Auburn in January.
While Martin is the first receiver to commit for Auburn’s 2017 class, the Tigers had one of the nation’s best receiving hauls in their 2016 class.
