Imposter pranks high school lineman with fake Auburn scholarship offer

What’s it like to receive an offer that wasn’t? Auburn is trying to clean up the mess left by an unknown person’s cruel prank on a high school lineman.

Taurrian Stafford, an offensive lineman for Miami Central, received a made-up “offer” from a caller impersonating Auburn offensive line coach Herb Hand, 247Sports.com reported.

Stafford said the caller, who introduced himself as Hand, complimented him on his aggressiveness and drive-blocking, then offered him a scholarship to Auburn. Before this incident, Stafford — a 6-foot-3, 325-pound junior guard — had only one offer, from FCS program Florida A&M.
