As reported here earlier by TET member aubfan_in_woodstock, senior wide receiver D’haquille ‘Duke’ Williams, was dismissed from the Auburn football team tonight for violating team rules.
According to AubunUndercover.com, Williams was involved in an altercation which led to Coach Malzahn announcing his dismissal.
“When individuals fail to meet the expectations of our program, there has to be consequences,” Malzahn said. “I gave D’haquille the chance to prove himself. I am disappointed that it did not work out.”
Williams was widely considered a top prospect for the NFL Draft. However, he had only caught 12 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown in 2015.
