JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – The Auburn women’s golf team wrapped up the Briar’s Creek Invitational Tuesday with a fifth-place finish in the 18-team event.
Auburn posted rounds of 288-291-292=871 to finish at 7-over par for the 54-hole tournament at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek (par 71, 6,101 yards).
Junior Michaela Owen led the way for the week, posting scores of 72-75-72=219 (+3) to tie for 22nd place. Owen bounced back from a double-bogey on her first hole to play the rest of the round at 2-under, carding four birdies and two bogeys the rest of the way.
