One of Auburn’s newest quarterbacks already is starting to remind people of a notable predecessor.
Following the Tigers’ first spring scrimmage Saturday, teammates of true freshman quarterback Malik Willis compared him to former star Nick Marshall.
“He wears 14 out there so everybody is comparing him to Nick,” quarterback Sean White told reporters. “He has a lot of similarities playing-wise to how Nick used to play.”
Willis threw two touchdowns in the scrimmage, with John Franklin III and Darius Slayton coming down on the other end of the passes. Auburn scored five total touchdowns in the scrimmage.
