Over the weekend, it was reported by the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Chris Vivlamore that Atlanta Hawks hopefuls Point Guard Edgar Sosa and Power Forward Arsalan Kazemi were released by the team.
Kazemi, a 6’8 225 lb forward was the first player of Iranian descent drafted by an NBA franchise.
The Philadelphia 76’ers selected Kazemi with the 54th overall pick in the 2013 draft.
Kazemi played collegiality at the University of Oregon.
The “beast from the middle east” received sparse preseason playing time with Atlanta before being waved.
