The Daily Chop: MLB owners reject 114-game proposal from MLBPA

MLB owners rejected the most recent proposal from the MLBPA on Wednesday, citing the 114-game schedule as a sticking point. MLB has stated that they will not issue a counter-proposal, though the sides will continue negotiations. Regardless, the longer these proceedings drag on, the less time that remains for a season to be played. If there is one absolute certainty right now, it’s that baseball should be played as soon as possible.

The Braves made a trade on June 3rd, 2009 that brought outfielder Nate McLouth to Atlanta. The Pirates received outfielder Gorkys Hernandez along with pitchers Jeff Locke and Charlie Morton, who of course went on to become one of the best pitchers in baseball years later as a member of the Astros.
