Braves select Armando Rivero in Rule 5 Draft

Following the release of Williams Perez the Braves selected Armando Rivero from the Iowa Cubs. Armando was a somewhat significant signing out of Cuba for the Cubs, known for his big arm. The scouting report for Armando consists of a fastball that sits between 94-97 MPH, a hard biting slider that sits in the mid 80s, and a split changeup.

There was some traction at Rivero becoming a starting pitcher, but he found his home in the bullpen, putting up some devastating numbers for Iowa. He will walk a few, of course if you’re in the Rule 5 with his ability that’s probably why, shown by his 4.
