Braves News: Tough sledding for Braves in shutout loss

BRAVES NEWS

The Braves squared off against Nationals right-hander Max Scherzer for the second time this season, but this iteration came with a much different result. Scherzer was knocked around somewhat in his previous start at SunTrust Park, but on Monday the Braves traveled to Washington, only to be dealt a shutout by the reigning Cy Young Award Winner. Scherzer went the distance, recording ten strikeouts in the process, and never allowed a runner to advance beyond second base. As the 2-0 score would suggest, the Braves pitched well in their own right, with Julio Teheran going six innings and allowing two runs with seven strikeouts.
