Braves' Freddie Freeman makes good on Mother's Day gift, delivers predicted home run for wife

Moms dig the long ball.

On Sunday, Braves star Freddie Freeman sat down with ESPN's Buster Olney for a video on what Mother's Day means to him and how it's changed for him over the last 10 years or so, and in the process delivered a fantastic Mother's Day gift.

In a pre-recorded Mother's Day interview that played during Freeman's at-bat in the third, Olney asked what Freddie would be gifting his wife, Chelsea. The first baseman responded appropriately: "Hopefully a home run, we'll go for that. Maybe she'll like that."

Well, Freddie delivered on his end, hitting a home run while the video package was played side-by-side on the ESPN telecast:

Freeman lost his mom when he was young, making Mother's Day for a sour calendar tent pole, to his own admission.
