ATLANTA -- Gordon Beckham will spend the final days of this season attempting to help the Giants secure a postseason berth.
The Braves traded Beckham to San Francisco for cash, according to a Major League source. The deal should provide the Giants some bench depth as they attempt to claim one of the National League's two Wild Card spots.
Beckham hit .217 with five home runs and a .655 OPS for the Braves this season. He will not be eligible for the Giants during the postseason because he was acquired after Aug. 31.
