Rio Ruiz started off the month of May the same way he started off April, with a great performance. He had 2 extra base hits, and Chase D'Arnaud and Reid Brignac went back to back for Gwinnett.

The offense started out on fire for Gwinnett, with Chase D'Arnaud and Reid Brignac hitting back to back home runs in the first inning to give the GBraves an early lead. After a 2 run 4th inning that saw the trainer need to come out to check on Tyrell Jenkins (he remained in the game and pitched well) Gwinnett fought back with a run of their own.
