Okay look, not all of these Braves player reviews are sexy. During the course of the season, teams make plenty of moves to guard against the worst -case scenario at each position, especially if there is a postseason run in the works. That is where catcher Chadwick Tromp came in.
How Acquired
The Braves claimed Chadwick Tromp off of waivers from the San Francisco Giants on September 21st. While the Braves had two catchers they were more than happy to carry on their postseason roster (Travis d’Arnaud and William Contreras) and a break-glass-in-case-of-emergency back-up plan (Shea Langeliers), the team understandably wanted to play it safe.
