Roma 'agreed to sell Tammy Abraham to Aston Villa for £25.6m before the end of the season', only for the England striker to suffer a serious knee injury on the final day to collapse the deal

Aston Villa had agreed a deal to sign Tammy Abraham for £25.6million before the player picked up an injury for Roma, according to reports.

The Giallorossi forward has been linked with a move away from the Italian capital this summer, with interest from the Premier League believed to be high for the former Chelsea star.

However, after suffering an ACL injury in his side's final game of the season, he looks set to be out for a while, making an exit this summer far more unlikely.

Reports from Ilario Di Giovambattista claim that the player had already been effectively sold to Villa by Jose Mourinho's side, only for his knee injury to scupper those plans.
