Athletic Bilbao want to sign Arsenal's Spanish defender Nacho Monreal this summer.
The new Bilbao coach Jose Angel Ziganda has previously coached Monreal at youth level and gave the defender his La Liga debut in the first-team at Osasuna.
Arsenal are expected to sign the Schalke left back Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer, as the Bosnian defender is out of contract this summer.
It means a departure is likely in Arsenal's left full back position.
