Baylor assistant secures ASU job

Arkansas State has found its replacement for John Brady.

Grant McCasland will be introduced as ASU's next men's basketball coach during an 11 a.m. news conference at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro, the school announced Tuesday afternoon.

McCasland, a 1999 Baylor graduate, is in his fifth season as an assistant with the Bears, which came after spending two seasons as head coach at Division II Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas, and five seasons as head coach at Midland (Texas) College. McCasland had a seven-year record of 199-44 at the two schools.

"Grant McCasland has proven himself as an outstanding coach and recruiter, winning on many levels," ASU Athletic Director Terry Mohajir said.
