JONESBORO, Ark. (3/24/17) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to UT Arlington Friday at the A-State Tennis Complex in its first Sun Belt Conference match of the season.
UTA swept the three doubles matches and then claimed straight-set victories in the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 singles matches to secure the victory. Julie Gauguery carried a four-match winning streak into the contest, but her match was one of three that went unfinished after the Mavericks had already claimed the win.
The Red Wolves saw their record move to 1-13 overall, while the Mavericks improved to 8-6 by winning their second match over their last three contests.
