Former Hog D.J. Williams doesn't make Redskins roster

Former Arkansas Razorback D.J. Williams said on Twitter Friday he did not make the Washington Redskins final roster after signing with the team last month.

Williams wrote shortly before 3 p.m. that he had "some unfortunate news" and that his "run to make the team came to an end."

"But I had a blast and excited for what's next! Thanks for the support," he added.

Williams won the Mackey Award as the country's best tight end in 2010 and was selected the next year by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the NFL draft.
