Arkansas State Coach John Brady was about to go watch the Red Wolves warm up at the Jack Stephens Center on Tuesday night when a member of UALR's coaching staff presented him with a shoe box. Brady said he was told it was from first-year UALR Coach Chris Beard.
"What am I going to do with another pair of shoes?" thought Brady, who announced earlier this season this would be his last as ASU coach.
Brady went into his team's locker room and opened the box. Rather than a pair of shoes, inside was a bottle of Ketel One Vodka, one of Brady's favorites, with a note attached to it.
