Trujillo, Scanlon to Compete in LAAC

LITTLE ROCK – Current Trojans George Trujillo and George Scanlon will compete in the Latin American Amateur Championship Jan. 12-15 at Club de Golf de Panama in Panama City.

The Latin American Amateur Championship is a stroke-play event played over 72 holes, with a cut for the leading 50 players plus ties after 36 holes. The champion will receive an invitation to the 2017 Masters Tournament, an exemption into The Amateur Championship and an exemption into the U.S. Amateur Championship and any other USGA amateur championship for which he is eligible.

The champion and runner-up will receive an exemption into Open Qualifying Series – Final Qualifying, held in July in the United Kingdom with an opportunity to earn a place in The 146th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
