Trojans Can't Break Through in Loss to South Alabama

LITTLE ROCK – The Trojan soccer team had defended well and had some of the better offensive chances in the game, but South Alabama scored once early and held on for a 1-0 victory at the Coleman Sports & Recreation Complex on Sunday afternoon.

The Jaguars got their goal in the 11th minute off a corner kick. Jemma Purfield took the corner, arcing it into the 6-yard box where Hannah Godfrey was waiting for the cross. Godfrey headed the ball into the net for the 1-0 lead.

The Trojans' best opportunity of the game may have been a Fali Garuba breakaway in the second half.
