Ex-Trojan serves as eye for Cyclones

DENVER -- Daniyal Robinson's task Thursday night was to scout Purdue at the Pepsi Center.

That task wasn't assigned with his previous allegiances in mind, but the Iowa State assistant coach didn't mind it.

"I love Little Rock," said Robinson, who played for the Trojans in 1996-1998 under Wimp Sanderson. "I followed them closely all year long. I'm rooting for them."

There's just one problem: For the first time as an assistant coach, Robinson will go against his alma mater when the teams meet in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at 5:10 p.m. today.
