Greg Byrne, Arizona Wildcats Athletic Director, followed in his father’s footsteps to become a successful athletic director and now carries on the legacy to his son.
In 2010, when Greg Byrne was named the new director of athletics for the Arizona Wildcats, he already had an impressive amount of experience and accomplishments under his belt. From being associate AD at Kentucky and Oregon State, he then was AD at Mississippi State before joining Arizona.
During his time with the Wildcats, he has hired nine successful coaches. To name only a few: football coach, Rich Rodriguez; gymnastics coach, Tabitha Yim; and most recently, baseball coach, Jay Johnson, who this year was named Mountain West Coach of the Year.
